Edgar had quite quickly become Clyde’s favorite man. It was a promising start in Zozo, where Sabin introduced them. The young king had paled, visibly flinching when their hands met and excusing himself as quickly as possible.
He went out of his way, exaggerating his movements just to see Edgar squirm. Was the poison in the water or the wine?
It would get to the point where Sabin would
intervene, and explain that Shadow was – in some way – "freaking his brother
out." Shadow would apologize, for obviously he didn’t mean it. And
then Clyde would start the cycle over again.
