The nature of time is change. The nature of time travel, then, is to observe or to change what had already changed. In her case, circumstances were far more dreadful. She had to save Vortex-kind, and thus change was inevitable. First she thought to raise an army to conquer, but that proved difficult; it was the best she could do to keep new hatchlings alive.

Vortex, now, never fed too much upon the Earth, but Vortex, her, was starving. She hunted more and more... while her offspring had to make due with less and less, adapting to the new planet.
