It was a strange creature. Hollow-boned, its body was entirely covered in the disgusting fleshy membrane it used to exploit currents of air. It used this advantage to swoop down and pluck unwitting liquid-dwellers from the sea.
That’s how she’d gotten into its nest – snatched like a tidbit of food-stock. She made it perfectly clear that she was not for eating. Stupid as it was, the Terran thing was able to figure that out swiftly enough. With no way home, she stayed in its nest, and stole food from it.
It was useful, she grudgingly conceded…
even precious, in time.
